8:29 Wedneday April 29, 2009 will start at 9:00 pm

Hey Guys! Tonight will be our final 8:29 of the semester and will begin at 9:00 instead of 8:29. We will be doing our NIGHT of WORSHIP as we normally do on dead day, so come and go as you please. I have mixed emotions as I always do about the last service of the regular school year because some of you will be moving on into another chapter of your lives. It is hard for me because many of you are like my own children others are like little brothers or sisters and I will truly miss you. I am thankful to my God for bringing you into our lives and you will always be in our prayers. May He bless you with clarity and discipline as you carry your cross into the world. Don't forget tonight's service will start at 9:00 o'clock instead of 8:29. We hope this will give everyone an opportunity to go support our Troy University Baseball Team in their quest for a win against the Auburn Tigers and still be able to make it to church!

Grace to U!

College Coed Bible Study

Hey guys! Don't forget we will start our Bible study tomorrow (Sunday 18Th) from 4 to 5 pm. We will meet in the college Sunday School room which is on the recreation end of the Family Life Center where we have 8:29. We are going to work our way through the Gospel of John this semester, so if you want to take a look at the first chapter before tomorrow that would be great! There is no set pace or schedule for this study, but fellowship and good discussion are a requirement. Joy and I are excited and we can't wait to see you!

Grace to U all!

Welcome Back!!

I pray everyone was blessed during the break! I also hope you all took some time to meditate, not only about the birth of Christ and the divine implications His birth meant for the world, but also where you are in your walk with Him, and where you are going. I know I have spent a great deal of time over the past few weeks reflecting on the incredible movement of the Holy Spirit on campus last semester and all of the events leading up to After Dark! God is good! I know you all are excited to get back and see everyone and catch up. Some of you are probably even excited about getting back into the groove of school; that was always a tough one for me! I know we are excited to see everyone and have some worship and fellowship time together. We won't have 8:29 this week but we will be back in full force next week! We will have some unique worship opportunities this semester as well as a coed bible study, so don't miss next Wednesday night!

God bless and His grace be upon you!!

DO HARD THINGS!!

You all have heard me say here recently to "do hard things" by not buying into the lie that just because you are young you can't accomplish great and mighty things. Jesus tells us as His disciples in John 14:11-14 "Have faith in me when I say that the Father is one with me and that I am one with the Father. Or else have faith in me simply because of the things I do. I tell you for certain that if you have faith in me, you will do the same things that I am doing. You will do even greater things, now that I am going back to the Father. Ask me, and I will do whatever you ask. This way the Son will bring honor to the Father. I will do whatever you ask me to do." If you are tired of living the lie, or feeling restless and anxious because you see the need for change, these words of Jesus should be great encouragement to you as a believer. Welcome to the NEW 8:29 BLOG!

Welcome to the new BLOG for 8:29. We hope to use this space to keep you updated on the activities and worship opportunities through the FBC Troy College Program. This blog will also serve as our anonymous link to you, the Troy students, allowing you to help not only our ministry be more effective, but other on or off campus ministries as well. Only you, the students know what it's like to walk in your shoes, so let us know your thoughts on how to be better servants to God through this ministry. Check back weekly to find out what is happening with 8:29 and Livestrong4Christ. Grace to U!
